ISHPEMING — Another hospital in Marquette County is restricting visitors due to a high volume of respiratory illness and influenza.
UP Health System – Bell in Ishpeming is implementing the same restrictions that UP Health System – Marquette started Monday. Children under the age of fourteen are not allowed to visit unless it’s for a medical appointment or an emergency room visit. In the Family Birthing Center, visitors are being limited to labor coaches and grandparents. Only parents are allowed to visit the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Only two visitors are permitted per patient, and those visitors must be within the patient’s immediate family, a significant other, or the patient’s advocate. Officials are also asking anyone with cold systems to not visit the hospital.
The restrictions will be in effect until further notice.
