Vacant house damaged by fire

ESCANABA — There were no injuries in a house fire in Escanaba Monday night.

Escanaba Public Safety Officers say firefighters were dispatched to the residence on the 200 block of North 12th Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, flames could be seen spreading up the house’s exterior wall and extending into the attic. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire with an aggresive attack, which protected nearby homes.

The home, which is currently vacant, received heavy fire, smoke, and water damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
