UPSET Detectives arrest 17 people

ESCANABA — The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET) arrested 14 people in the city of Escanaba Wednesday for Felony Delivery of Buprenorphine. The arrests came after multiple investigations conducted by UPSET into the sale and distribution of Buprenorphine.

Three other people were arrested on charges unrelated to the investigations dealing with Buprenorphine. Names of all the suspects are being withheld until they’re arraigned in the 94th District Court of Delta County.

Buprenorphine is also known as Suboxone/Subutex, which is a prescribed medication used to battle drug addiction is also used for pain management.

UPSET Detectives were assisted by Escanaba Public Safety, Delta County Sheriff Department, Delta County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Michigan State Police.
