UPPCO Working to Restore Power

Upper Peninsula Power Company crews have been working non-stop to restore power to those customers of UPPCO who are with out power due to the weather.

There are currently 1393 customers in Ishpeming without power, 43 in Munising and 46 Houghton customers with out power.

Crews will continue to work until power has been restored to all UPPCO customers.

Trees that are bowed over power lines due to heavy snow have knocked out the power, and as the temperature rises and the snow melts it is possible for secondary outages to occur due to the branches bouncing back.
