UPDATE: Bell Hospital emergency unfounded

What appeared to be a drastic emergency situation of a hazardous nature seems to be winding down in Marquette County.

Ruth Solinksi, Vice President of Organizational Development at Bell Hospital in Ishpeming, says the facility received notification of a possible high risk patient en route.  Solinski told ABC 10 the patient did not present.  With the emergency situation unfounded, normal operations will resume.

All indications earlier in the evening pointed to an emergency incident of some scope at the hospital.

Emergency response crews, including police, fire and rescue teams were dispatched to secure the outside of the hospital for more than an hour.

Bell Hospital administrators arrived at the facility this evening along with a host of emergency personnel from Marquette County.  Police blocked off access to the hospital parking lot.

Earlier in the evening, authorities kept bystanders in an area of the parking lot near the main entrance to the hospital parking lot, specifically telling people to stay ‘downwind’ from the building.
