Upcoming raffle supports charity with an added prize

MARQUETTE — The Third Annual ‘Reverse Draw Raffle’ dinner and party for Beacon House is coming up this Saturday.

Tickets are $100. In order to keep the odds of winning high, only 250 tickets will be sold, but others can attend too. One grand prize winner will walk away with $5,000.

“The evening is just a ton of fun,” said Beacon House CEO Mary (Tavernini) Dowling, “so it’s called the Reverse Draw Raffle so the first ticket drawn is the biggest loser and then we go on for another 249 tickets.”

Ticket holders do not need to be present to win. The ticket price includes a prime rib dinner catered by Elizabeth’s Chop House, along with other games, music, and prizes.

“There’s a lot of energy in this event. A lot of people just having a really great time and cracking up and teasing each other because they’re losers and things like that. But we know that everybody’s there because they think the winner is Beacon House and they want us to win by being able to afford to keep this wonderful program going.”

The event takes place at the Masonic Temple Ballroom in Marquette this Saturday at 6:30. Tickets are available through Friday at Beacon House or by clicking here.
