UPAWS Gala coming up Friday
NEGEUNEE– One local organization is hoping to raise money with a celebration of the love between pets and their people.
The annual Cause for Paw Gala is coming up tomorrow at the Masonic Building in Marquette. The gala will feature food, beer and wine tasting, auctions, live music, prizes and a raffle.
Organizers say that this event is a fundraiser and all the money raised will go to the shelter.
“This event is one of the funest fundraiser of the year because it’s really a venue to celebrate the bond people and their pets,” said UPAWS Board President Amber Wetton, “to get really excited about to have a fun adult night out, but also know that the money that you’re donating is going to these animals to helping them find a forever home.”
Wetton said that they were adding a live auction this year and that tickets were selling out quickly. Some of the items that will be on sale will be pet items, artwork and jewelry, sports memorabilia and home décor. Tickets are still available at the shelter or at the door.
