U.P. Weather Forecast 2/5-6

Gusty winds and blowing snow may cause localized poor visibility for the evening commute.

Southwest winds with gust to over 30 mph will lead to some blowing snow and locally reduced visibility into early this evening. The blowing snow will be most pronounced in open areas and visibility may be reduced to less than one-half mile during stronger wind gusts. West to east oriented roads will be the most vulnerable to the lower visibility. Motorist should be prepared for quickly changing visibility when traveling early this evening.

Weather Forecast:

Thursday brought us a full supply of sunshine, but temps struggled to reach the middle teens. More of the same awaits us tonight. Lows will drop to the low to mid single digits, while southwest winds blow at 10 to 15 miles per hour. Friday, clouds will increase, along with temperatures.

Highs will top off in the low to mid-20s, while winds come out of the northwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Tomorrow night, isolated flurries arrive, providing a quick dusting to the region. Low temps will bottom out in the low to mid teens, with north winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Snow chances hang around for the weekend, which will bring a better opportunity for accumulating snow.
