QUINNESIC — Parts of the paper mill in Quinnesec will be going through a temporary shutdown on Saturday.

Verso Corporation officials announced that the shutdown of the recovery boiler and pulp mill are periodically scheduled to help improve safety, product quality, and environmental performance.

Officials advise that nearby residents may notice a slight odor from the mill which will only be temporary and poses no threat to health or the environment.

Motorists on US–2 should use caution while driving by the mill due to increased traffic. Normal operations will resume on May third.
