U.P. man appointed to state board

Governor Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Aaron Andres, of Marquette, to the Michigan Barrier Free Design Board.

Andres will represent the physically limited and replaces James McGaugh. He will serve a three-year term expiring October 31, 2015 and his appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.

The nine-member board assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs with reviewing and processing requests for exceptions to the barrier-free design specifications. It also makes recommendations for barrier-free design rules.
