U.P. Filmmaking Panel
Local filmmakers, actors and movie lovers are banding together to try and raise awareness about the benefits of filmmaking in the U.P. — and hopefully grab the attention of Lansing.
Beau Chaput of Brook Trout Productions is from Gwinn.
He hosted a panel discussion tonight about the Michigan film incentive and how the U.P. is not being utilized.
Brook Trout Productions recently finished shooting a short film in Gwinn called “The Ice Brigade”.
They hope to use this finished project as an example of what can be done here with mainly local talent.
The panel plans to keep meeting over the next 6 weeks to generate new ideas.
Chaput also plans to send Michigan politicians video testimonials from people who have participated in, and support, local filmmaking.
