U.P. Builders Show now open in Marquette

If you build it, they will come. The Upper Peninsula Builders Show has just opened in Marquette. It’s the largest show of its kind in the U.P., and once again, it’s sold out.

Going 40 years strong, the Builders Show has taken over the Superior Dome in Marquette with 200 exhibit booths. Everything from rugs and doorknobs to barbecue grills and power tools are on display. Officials say it’s the best show around and the place to be to introduce new products and see what’s new in the industry.

“I chose to come to the Builders Show this year because we wanted to introduce two products that I’ve designed and developed over the last few years,” Webber Construction & Fabrication owner Gray Webber said. “One is the Aqua-Bore well-drilling unit. It’s a small, compact, portable well-drilling unit, but full-feature. The other one is a ladder hoist. You come in here and you see actual building products, building processes, support for equipment and so on. There’s a lot of outfits with a lot of construction equipment that they bring here.”

“Very interesting exhibits; amazing exhibits. People have been here for days putting exhibits together that are just spectacular,” U.P. Builders Show co-chair Jennifer Lammi said. “A lot of the exhibitors have told me that they have made enough contacts for their entire year to get all of their projects done.”

The show is open tonight until 9:00, tomorrow from 10 to 8 and on Sunday from 11 to 4. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and $1 for students.
