Two wolves killed on opening day of wolf harvest

Two wolves have been killed in the opening day of Michigan’s wolf harvest.

The Department of Natural Resources confirms two wolves were killed. The hunters registered the wolves at DNR offices in Baraga and Wakefield.

Hunters must report wolves killed over the phone or in person the day the wolf is killed. Only 43 wolves can be harvested during the hunting season in three areas of the U.P.

The DNR’s wolf harvest website has updates on the number of wolves harvested. The DNR will update the site at 6 a.m. every day of the hunt.
