Two Ironwood Residents Arrested on Home Invasion Charges

Two Ironwood residents are lodged in the Iron County, Wisconsin jail tonight facing home invasion charges in Michigan.

Troopers from the Wakefield Post of the Michigan State Police say that the charges stem from a home invasion in early August of an elderly couples home in Ironwood township. The couples door had been kicked in and a purse was stolen. Police were able to locate the suspects car, but the pair had already fled on foot.

After a lengthy collaborative investigation with deputies from the Iron County Sheriffs Department, the two suspects were located and apprehended. The suspects, both 22 and 23 years of age, have both been charged with first degree home invasion, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Bond has been set at $200,000 for each suspect.
