MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Two people were seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Friday night in Marquette Township.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post say the accident happened shortly before 9:00 p.m. on County Road 550. 25-year-old Christopher Keller of Marquette was driving a motorcycle northbound when he lost control and ran off the roadway. The motorcycle traveled through a ditch and Keller and his passenger, 23-year-old Connor Polkinghorne of Ishpeming, were both thrown from the motorcycle.

Police say both victims were tranpsorted to UP Health System – Marquette for treatment of serious injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
