Two cars collide in West Ishpeming

It could have been a lot worse this afternoon, as two cars collided on U.S. 41 in West Ishpeming.

Michigan State Police say a black SUV heading westbound on U.S. 41 attempted to turn south on Marigold Street, but was unable to cross two lanes of traffic unscathed. A brown Lincoln Navigator heading eastbound on U.S. 41 was struck from by the SUV as it made its way across the highway. The SUV received the brunt of the damage to it’s front end, losing a headlight in the process. The Navigator’s back bumper was knocked off it’s bearing as a result of the collision.
