Two Car Accident Sends One Person to the Hospital
An accident on U.S. 41 near Airport Road in Houghton County closed the road for a while today.
It happened just before noon when a 66 year old man from Houghton was attempting to make a left hand turn on U.S. 41 while towing a 5th wheel trailer.
Police say a car driven by a 17 year-old from Calumet slammed into the back of the trailer pinning his car under the 5th wheel.
He had to be extricated from his vehicle and was taken to Portage Hospital by Mercy Ambulance.
He was transferred to Marquette General and is listed in stable condition.
The incident is still under investigation.
