Two arrested after discovery of active meth lab

Two people are behind bars after police discovered an active meth lab in Ironwood Township on Wednesday.

Forty-one year old John Davis and 31-year-old Sara Harris were both arraigned on five felony charges, all involving meth. Each of the felony counts carries a maximum sentence of 20-25 years in prison and fines up to $20,000.

The Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team (GIANT) executed a search warrant at a residence on Sunset Road in Ironwood Township earlier today. That’s where they found the active meth lab.

Bond for both defendants was set at 10% of $100,000.


 

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP — Two suspects were taken into custody after the discovery of a meth lab in Ironwood Township on Wednesday.

Officers from the Gogebic-Iron Area Narcotics Team say the active lab was found when a search warrant was executed at a residence on Sunset Road. Two individuals were arrested. Authorities say further information will be released once the suspects are arraigned.

The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and the Ironwood Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted with cleanup of the meth lab.
