MARQUETTE — An event that made its debut just a year ago was so popular, that the Marquette Downtown Development Authority decided to do it again this year.
The Second Annual Downtown Spring Open Twisted Tea will be held next Saturday, April Twenty Fifth. There will be fourteen different miniature golf holes setup at fourteen Marquette restaurants and bars. Teams of four need just a single putter and a golf ball to participate.
“Things went really well last year. We had about 44 participating teams of four, so we learned a lot,” said Tara Laase–McKinney of the Marquette DDA. “A lot of people really get into it. This year we have a few extra bars and restaurants added on. We’re giving everyone a little more time to golf so they can really enjoy it, have fun and take their time.”
Proceeds from the event go to support the Jansen House. All participating golfers must be twenty–one or older to participate.
Prizes up for grabs include gift certificates to the participating restaurants, golf outing packages, gift baskets and a Whole lot more. You still have time to get a team together;registration for the event has been extended to Wednesday, April Twenty Second.
