ST. IGNACE — Twelve people were arrested Monday after a lengthy investigation by the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Taskforce.

The Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office says investigations conducted by Tri-Dent over the past several months resulted in arrest warrants being issued for fifteen suspects. Of those fifteen, eight were arrested in Mackinac County and four more were apprehended in Chippewa County. The five women and seven men range in age from 23 to 54 years old, and all are lodged in the Mackinac County Jail pending arraignment.

A total of 31 charges are being brought against the group, including charges of manufacturing, delivery, and possession of drugs like hydrocodone, ecstasy, Adderall, suboxone, and morphine. There are also several charges of maintaining drug houses, probation and parole violations, and habitual offender statuses.

The names of the twelve suspects are being withheld pending arraignment. Police say more arrests and charges are expected in the near future.
