If you’re planning on crossing the International Bridge into Canada anytime soon, you might want to bring a few extra quarters.
The toll rate for a standard passenger vehicle is now $3.50. It used to be just $3.00. The Canadian currency rate will rise to $3.70 after the 20 cent currency equity adjustment is applied. The increase went into effect at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The Sault Ste. Marie Bridge Authority approved the measure for both commercial and passenger vehicle classifications back in November.
The full schedule of U.S. and Canadian currency toll rates can be viewed on the bridge website.
