Thursday’s weather summary

Thursday’s weather summary

Wednesday and Thursday were very rough days for residents across the Upper Peninsula when in comes to the weather  Snow fell heavily early but did eventually move out of the area.

Heading into Thursday night, skies remain mostly cloudy while, but thankfully snow-free.

Temperatures drop to the middle 20’s for overnight lows while winds come from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Clouds stick around early Friday as high pressure begins to build in from the west.  That will allow mostly sunny skies to take over by late afternoon while winds shift to come from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.

Highs for the region look to top off in the 30’s and 40’s.

Skies will eventually become completely clear by Friday night, which will help temperatures fall a little further than the previous nights.

Lows bottom out in the lower 20’s while winds weaken.

Saturday is setting up to be an active day for us as another disturbance moves in and brings us a chance of rain and snow at first, before changing over to all rain by Saturday afternoon.
