Three people fall through ice in Delta County

Three people fell through the ice near the mouth of the Days River in Delta County on Saturday.

Deputies from the Delta County Sheriff’s Department and Trooper from the Gladstone post of the Michigan State Police responded to the incident around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Two adult males and one juvenile were coming off the ice and fell through when riding their ATV.  Gladstone Public Safety used the rescue Hovercraft to the area.  The two adult males were able to make if off the ice safely.  One male and the juvenile were treated on scene by Rampart EMS.

The Delta County Search & Rescue Team and Ensign Fire Department also assisted in the incident.

Deputies urge people going onto the ice to use extreme caution due to the poor ice conditions.
