MARQUETTE — The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning (NCLL) has been hoping to learn more about serious problem. Today they got their chance to learn about The Dangers of Meth in Michigan.

A presentation was given by Detective Lieutenant Tim Sholander who is the Team Commander of the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET). During the presentation, Sholander demonstrated how this dangerous drug affects thousands of citizens across the Upper Peninsula.

“I’m hoping they’ll have just a better overall understanding of what the real dangers are for us,” said NCLL Class Liaison Carol Margrif, “what meth is, what are the components of meth, what makes it dangerous, identify it and if it should be somebody next door that is suspicious or something that you get some idea of maybe when you should be concerned, when you should report, and that sort of thing.”

Over a dozen people attended the event, which was held at the Superior Dome.
