BAY CITY, Mich. — Michigan Tech’s Phil Milbrath (Norway, Mich.) has been named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Football Player of the Week for his performance in Tech’s 20-17 win over No. 1-ranked Grand Valley State last Saturday (Oct. 30).

Milbrath rushed for a career-high 293 yards on 33 carries in the contest. He accounted for both Michigan Tech touchdowns—a 14-yard run in the first quarter and a one-yard run in the third. The 5-9, 200-pound senior also caught two passes for 11 yards in the game, giving him 304 yards of all-purpose offense on the day.

Milbrath leads the GLIAC in rushing (158.0 yards per game), all-purpose offense (204.1 yards per game) and scoring (12.0 points per game).

A Tech football player has earned GLIAC Player of the Week four times this season. The other three were for special teams: kick returner Akeem Cason last week (Oct. 25) and kicker Tyler Cattelino for both Sept. 20 and Oct. 11.

Michigan Tech will take its 6-2 record on the road to face Ferris State this Saturday (Nov. 6). Kickoff in Big Rapids, Mich., is slated for 2 p.m.
