Tech Soccer wins first ever playoff game

HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech women’s soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the GLIAC soccer tournament with a 3-0 win over Tiffin Tuesday (Oct. 30). The Huskies will face the winner of the Saginaw Valley State and Ohio Dominican match Friday in Allendale, Mich.

“I am so proud of our women today,” said head coach Michelle Jacob. “They played hard and never gave up. We kept the pressure on offensively and worked hard to win the ball defensively.”

Tech (14-3-1) dictated much of the play finishing with advantages in shots, 26-4, and corner kicks, 7-0.

Jenna Phelps<http://www.michigantechhuskies.com/sports/wsoc/2012-13/bios/phelps%20jenna00.html> made two saves in goal for the Huskies.
