Tech ranked 18th in latest USCHO.com poll

HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech hockey team has earned the No. 18 ranking in the USCHO.com poll after a series split against longtime rival Northern Michigan this past weekend (Oct. 23-24). The Huskies rallied from a Friday loss to knock off the Wildcats, 3-1, in front of a sellout crowd of 4,466 at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena on Saturday.

The hockey Huskies have now been ranked in each of the last 25 USCHO.com polls dating back to Oct. 27, 2014. Michigan Tech’s current streak in the polls is the longest of any team in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and includes a stop at No. 1 on Nov. 17, 2014.

Tech was just outside the top-15 but received votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

The Black and Gold stay home this weekend (Oct. 30-31) for a two-game WCHA series against Ferris State. The Huskies and Bulldogs have already played this year – a split Oct. 16-17 in Big Rapids, Mich.
