Team Poop on Cancer wants to “Save Second Base”

MARQUETTE — The annual Trenary Outhouse Races are this weekend, and a philanthropic team is making their return as well.

Team Poop on Cancer is back to race and spread awareness. The team hopes to raise $5,000 this year to donate to the Wig Salon managed by the Upper Peninsula Hospitality House.

Captain of Team Poop on Cancer MaryAnn Bernier says, “I am a breast cancer survivor, I went through chemo and radiation nine years ago. I lost my hair within the first 14 days. They let me know about the Wig Salon, and told me that it was free of charge to patients, and I stopped over, and they were so nice, and it’s such a personal experience.”

Poop on Cancer Teammate, and sister, Carol Mills says, “The last year’s design was ‘Rack Management – Get Routine Mammograms.’ So you go online, you search a little bit, and we found this application which we thought was fun for both guys and girls alike.”

The team needs your help in reaching their goal.
