Team Hill preps for Dancing with the Stars Marquette County Style

MARQUETTE — One of Marquette County’s favorite events is fast approaching. Dancing with the Stars Marquette County Style is next Thursday, and the couples are hard at work.

One of those couples are William Hill and his wife Ashley. The pair are doing a lyrical hip-hop dance to Alicia Keys’ “Like You’ll Never See Me Again,”

“It’s a very powerful song and it really fits the whole U.P. Home Health [and] Hospice theme. In fact, a couple people have come in to watch it and cried, so, pretty powerful song!” said William.

So far, William and Ashley have raised around five thousand dollars. While winning isn’t really the point of the competition, William is Northern Michigan University’s assistant basketball coach, so competitiveness is in his nature.

“I’m trying not to let the competitiveness get involved, but I know I will. It’s not really about winning, but I know everybody wants to win, you know, come dance night. You know, going into it, I really thought I’d want to win more, but it’s kind of cool how everybody’s come together,” added William.

“I have faith in them. I have full faith in them and whether or not they win or not, it’s a great cause and they’re doing a great job. It’s probably one of the best things I’ve ever done,” said the Hill’s coach, Maureen Sullivan.

The proceeds from the competition go to support the U.P. Hospice Foundation.
