Teacher Charged with CSC Said to Confess

There’s word that the Marquette middle school teacher recently accused of child sexual abuse has confessed.

School superintendent Jon Hartwig says he’s been told Kevin Wilson has admitted to the crime.

Wilson was accused of criminal sexual conduct for abusing a student in 1996.

Hartwig says it’s not up to him, or even to the school board, to fire someone at a time like this.

The school board sends it to the state’s education tenure commission.

It’s a Detroit group set aside only to resolve disputes about employment of Michigan teachers.

Wilson will stay suspended until they make a decision.

This is the first time Hartwig has ever referred someone to the tenure commission for possible firing.

He says it could take the group up to a year to decide Wilson’s fate.
