If you are looking for a way to get in a little cross country skiing – and enjoy the outdoors – here’s a suggestion: the Friends of Valley Spur are hosting a ‘Taste and Glide’ event tomorrow, as a way to get families outside skiing.
The event takes place at the ski trails five miles south of Munising on M–94 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The ‘Taste and Glide’ is part of a program to help parents teach their kids how to cross county ski and enjoy the trails in Alger County.
Children under the age of 18 can borrow equipment and ski at the trails for free. Adults pay $10 for a day pass. Equipment is available on a first come, first serve basis.
Trailside buffet tables will be set up for skiers and snowshoers to try an assortment of food prepared by Munising area establishments.
