Suspects sought in Hancock purse theft
Hancock City Police are looking for the person who reportedly stole an elderly woman’s purse Thursday afternoon. The woman contacted police Thursday at approximately 1:00 PM to report the incident.
She lives on Hancock Street and said two young males knocked on her door and asked for a drink of water. The woman went to her kitchen to get water for the men. When she returned to the front door they were gone and she noticed her purse was missing.
The woman described the two male subjects as being in their late teens, one shorter and one taller. She said they were wearing dark colored clothing. The subjects were last seen heading east on Hancock Street.
A search of the area by the the Michigan State Police canine unit from Calumet lost the scent in the area of Depot St.
