Suspects arrested in Alger Co. home invasion – armed robbery

The two suspects from a March 12 home invasion and robbery in Alger County have been arrested downstate.

29-year-old Richard Anthony VanPelt and a 20-year-old woman, both from Bay City, have been arrested in connection with the March 12 home invasion and armed robbery in Alger County.

Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post say they are 29-year-old Richard Anthony  VanPelt and a 20-year-old woman, both from Bay City.

The woman’s name won’t be available until after she has been arraigned.

The State Police Fugitive Team arrested the pair in Bay City Tuesday evening.

The man is charged with first-degree home invasion, assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder, unlawful imprisonment and armed robbery.

He’s being held in the Alger County Jail.

The woman is charged with first-degree home invasion and armed robbery.  She’s in custody in Bay City and is expected to be brought to Alger County today.
