Suspect in Hit and Run Case Arrested
Troopers from the St. Ignace Post have arrested a 46-year-old female resident of Moran.
The woman struck Travis McLean of Albuquerque, New Mexico August 14th on Highway 123 in Brevort Township, Mackinac County.
McLean was walking down the shoulder of the road when he was struck from behind by a small gray vehicle.
McLean told troopers he was struck by the vehicle, which then stopped, and a female got out of the car, looked at him lying on the ground then got back in her car and sped away.
The media aired the story, and four days later, police received a tip about the vehicle and suspect.
The suspect said she thought she had hit a deer.
The suspect posted $500 cash bond and will appear in 92nd District Court in St. Ignace on December 21 at 9:30 a.m.
