Suspect in custody after fatal shooting
ST IGNACE TOWNSHIP — A suspect is in jail after a fatal shooting incident in Mackinac County.
Troopers from the St. Ignace Post of the Michigan State Police were dispatched to N4430 Mackinac trail in St. Ignace Township Friday night. When they arrived, they discovered the body of 75-year-old Richard McKenzie, who had suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
Troopers located a suspect on scene and was arrested. The suspect’s name will be released after a review of the case by the Mackinac County Prosecutor, issuing of formal charges, and arraignment.
The Michigan State Police Crime Lab responded to the scene to process evidence.
