ISHPEMING — About 100 seventh and eighth graders at Ishpeming Middle School spent part of their Monday away from school having a little fun.
The middle school students went up and down the tube slide as many times as they could. The day trip to Al Quaal is part of the school’s incentive program for the students.
Around 90% of the students were able to make the trip and enjoy the thrill of going really fast down the hill.
“We push a lot of treating each other with a lot of positive attitudes and respect,” said Ryan Reichel, a teacher at Ishpeming Middle School. “The staff does a wonderful job promoting it. Being able to kids to showcase that if you are a well–behaved student, both in and out of the classroom, you’re going to get opportunities of a lifetime like going to the tube hill.”
“You get the wind in your face and you get some snow in your hair and in your hat,” said Joey King, a 7th Grader at Ishpeming Middle School. “I feel it’s good because this makes us keep on going in school, it makes us want to have more fun and want to stay in school.”
Most of the kids said they had a blast and they can’t wait to do it again.
