HANCOCK — The Hancock Fire Department responded to a structure fire call around 3 a.m. Wednesday on Anthony Street.

It took about an hour and a half to put out the flames. The cause of the fire, which began in the rear of the structure, is still under investigation.

The house was unoccupied, but Hancock Fire Chief Joe Neher says two or three cats perished in the fire. The Calumet Fire Department also assisted on scene.
