UPDATE: Major traffic light back in service

UPDATE — 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 (EDT)

The traffic signal at the intersection of US-2/US-41 and South Hill Road in Gladstone is now back in service. The outage was caused by a truck that struck part of the signal.


GLADSTONE — The signal at the intersection of US-2/US-41 and South Hill Road in Gladstone is temporarily out of service. Crews from The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) are currently working to restore operations.

The cause of the outage is not known at this time.

MDOT urges motorists to use caution when approaching a traffic signal that is dark.

The driver of a vehicle approaching the intersection must yield the right of way to a vehicle that has already entered the intersection from a different highway.

When two vehicles enter an intersection from different highways at approximately the same time, the driver of the vehicle on the left must yield the right of way to the vehicle on the right.
