Stolen Vehicle in Iron River

Two people believed to have stolen a vehicle Sunday night are in the Ontonagon County Jail tonight.

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say the vehicle was stolen from Angeli Foods in Iron River at about 8:30 Central time last night.

They found the vehicle heading north on US-141 near Cable Lake.

An attempted traffic stop failed, and police continued pursuing the vehicle.

Along the way, troopers say they tried to use stop sticks but once again failed to stop the vehicle.

The driver lost control on US-45 in Ontonagon County near Gauthier Road, and the two male suspects fled on foot.

But they were arrested on US-45 this morning a few miles north of Bruce Crossing.

The suspects’ names won’t be released until after they’re arraigned in the Iron County Trial Court.
