Stolen sports car ends up in another state

CALUMET — Police in the Copper Country are investigating how a stolen sports car from Calumet ended up in Wisconsin.

The Calumet Police Department was called to Kissel Chevrolet just before seven this morning. The dealerships front door was smashed and a new 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS was missing. In Wisconsin, the Hurley Police Department had a breaking and entering complaint at a business around 4:30 a.m. An eyewitness did get vehicle description and plate information, which was a dealer plate that was registered to Kissel Chevrolet.

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Department recovered the stolen Camaro. According to police, another vehicle may have been stolen from the Hurley area. Police are still investigating this matter and no arrests have been made at this time.
