FORSYTH TOWNSHIP — Police have located the lumber allegedly stolen two weeks ago in the Forsyth Township area.

Officers from the Forsyth Township Police say they met up with a man Saturday who had located a large pile of lumber in the woods by Martin Lake Road. The man escorted officers to the place where he discovered the approximately 180 2×6’s that had been dumped in the woods. Police say that same lumber had been stolen from Alder Lumber in Gwinn on May 3rd.

Police believe the lumber was left by the responsible parties after a news release was sent out alerting citizens to keep an eye out. Additional information found that a suspicious vehicle — a black Chevrolet Suburban pulling a trailer — had been seen in the area of the lumber.

Forsyth Township Police ask that anyone with information on the incident contact them at (906) 346-9224.
