IRON MOUNTAIN — A local law enforcement officer is retiring after 27 years of service.

First Lieutenant Christine Grabowski announced her retirement from the Michigan State Police Tuesday. Grabowski has served as a trooper, a sergeant, a community services officer, and a DARE officer. She most recently served as commander of the Iron Mountain Post, where she was responsible for traffic enforcement and criminal investigation in Dickinson and Iron Counties.

Grabowski’s retirement takes effect Wednesday.
