State Police First Aid Training

It was a training day for other troopers at the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post.

The officers took part in a refresher course in one of the most important aspects of their job — a first aid refresher course.

Law enforcement is often the first on the scene of an accident, and knowing first aid can make all the difference in life-threatening situations.

Trooper Jeremy Hauswirth says the course is a way for the officers to stay up to date on the latest in first aid and practice skills they might not have to use on a regular basis.

Each year, the troopers also learn about newer medical trends and practices.
