Stage 2 of CopperDog 150 race
With Stage 2 of the CopperDog 150 sled dog race now complete, the mushers and dog teams are resting for the night in Copper Harbor.
Eight Upper Peninsula mushers are in this year’s field of 28.
Roy Bauer of Chassell is leading the U.P. mushers.
He and his dog team are in eighth place, 36 minutes behind race leader Bruce Magnusson of Novi.
The race concludes in Calumet tomorrow.
Martha Schouweiler of Irma, Wisconsin won the CopperDog 40 race last night, with Truman Obermeyer of Calumet finishing second in the 12-team field.
