NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee Police Department was dispatched to a disturbance at an apartment on the 300 block of W. Clark St. in Negaunee around 11:15 p.m. Sunday evening. Upon investigation and interviews, officers learned that a 42 year old female at the residence had been stabbed by a 15 year old female.

Officers learned that all subjects at the apartment had been consuming alcohol, and an argument had ensured between the victim and the suspect prior to the incident.

The suspect has been taken into custody and is lodged at the Marquette County Youth Home. She faces four charges, which are under review:

  • Felonious Assault
  • Domestic violence
  • Lying to Police
  • Minor in Consumption/Possession of alcohol

The victim was transported to UP Health Systems in Marquette where she was treated and released. The incident remains under investigation.

NEGAUNEE — At least two females were taken into custody for questioning. Both of the young women were in handcuffs. This is the second reported stabbing of the New Year in Marquette County.

Negaunee Police responded to a reported stabbing about in an apartment building on the 300 block of W. Clark St. It appeared that possibly two young women were in handcuffs and escorted to police cars.  No information has been released on the female who was reportedly stabbed. ABC 10 witnessed paramedics go inside, however did not witness a victim being taken away. Police were also seen using flashlights in the bitter cold to check the area for clues.

Assisting Negaunee Police on the scene were the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department, Ishpeming Police, Michigan State Police and U.P. Health System Bell paramedics. It appears that police were questioning numerous females. ABC 10 will update this story when more information is released.
