An eastern U.P. man will be arraigned 2 weeks from now on charges coming from a friend’s shooting death.

21-year-old Roy Roach of St. Ignace is charged with 4 felonies, including 2nd-degree murder and manslaughter.

State police from the St. Ignace post accuse him of accidentally shooting 19-year-old Seth Tamlyn of St. Ignace.

It happened at an apartment in Moran Township in late October.

Police say when they arrived, they found Tamlyn dead from a single gunshot wound.

They say Roach told them he was cleaning a gun that he thought was empty.

The gun was actually loaded.

He’s said to have aimed it at Tamlyn and fired.
