UPPER PENINSULA — One major U.P. road is joining others in the state in having its seasonal weight restrictions lifted.

The Michigan Department of Transportation announced that US-2 from Iron Mountain to St. Ignace will have frost restrictions lifted starting Monday. Remaining state trunkline highways in the Lower Peninsula will also see their restrictions lifted.

For trunklines north of US-2 designated as seasonal routes, a posted weight reduction of 25 percent for rigid pavements and 35 percent for flexible pavements will remain in effect. Click here for more information on road weight restrictions.
