MARQUETTE – As the saying goes, ‘It’s a great day to be a Wildcat.’ That saying was definitely true for the NMU soccer team. The Wildcats scored seven goals in route to a 7-0 win over Tiffin.

Sophomore Paula Hafner led the way for NMU with two goals in the first half. Kim Rietveld, Taylor Smith, Carmen Villaruel, Hailey Beyrand, and Madison Hamilla all scored for the Wildcats. NMU has won three straight games by a combined score of 15-0. The Wildcats take on Findlay on Sunday at 12 p.m.

In Houghton, Michigan Tech junior forward Lexi Herrewig scored the only goal of the game to lift the Huskies to the 1-0 win over Findlay. Michigan Tech put nine shots on goal, compared to only five by the Oilers. The Huskies have a 6-0-1 in GLIAC play. The Huskies battle Tiffin Sunday at 12 p.m.
