An Iowa man has been released from the hospital his snowmobile after hit a truck Saturday in Houghton County.    The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department says the 62 year old man did not stop at the trail access to a road – and ran into the side of a pickup truck.

And, an Illinois man broke his leg in a Houghton County snowmobile accident Friday afternoon. Police say a 53 year old man left the edge of the trail, got stuck in powder and lost control.  He hit a group of trees and was thrown from the machine.

These are just two of the many incidents and accidents involving snowmobiles this season in the U.P. – some have been fatal.
