Snowmobile fatality in Alger Co.
The Alger County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal snowmobile accident that occurred in Munising Township about 4:00 a.m. this morning.
A 46 year old Illinois man was westbound on Trail # 8 between Shingleton and Wetmore when the accident occurred. He was traveling with a group of four other riders when the accident occurred.
Poor visibility and excessive speed are believed to be contributing factors in this accident
No further details are available at this time and the accident is still under investigation.
Alger County EMS and the Alger County Rescue Team assisted Sheriff’s Deputies at the scene.
